Hello, we have a small workspace account set up through Wix (our website host) and I have recently run into some issues with lack of storage space. As Wix is the reseller, I cannot purchase any upgrades through Google directly, and Wix currently does not allow changes at the plan level. So I'm left either deleting emails that are older than a year, or I need to transfer the account to Google so I can actually make changes and adjustments as needs arise. (I wish I'd known that before I signed up through Wix) Has anyone done something similar? I'm curious what issues arise, what I need to watch out for, etc., as we live and die by our email so I can't afford for it to go sideways.
Thanks!

@Chris-EC I have not done a Wix migration but I believe they are just a reseller for you.
Google has no longer sells additional storage. The key solution is to go to a higher tier of your Google Workspace subscription. What subscription type are you on now? -KAM
We are on the business starter plan, and I'm ok with the idea of moving up to Standard or Essentials or whatever. I just need more storage and Wix says they can't do that.
@Chris-EC obviously they should support you on this.(by the way you should move to business standard)
Please clarify the reason why they cannot do this. May be you might be on an annual commitment.
If you are having trouble please use the below link to create a support ticket with google team.
@Chris-EC They are likely not focusing on the goal and instead on your exact question. I would ask them for a quote to upgrade to a different edition. Take a look here at the version comparison https://support.google.com/a/answer/6043385?hl=en&fl=1 and note that essentials does NOT include Gmail. -KAM
Yeah they're telling me i have to cancel and re-sign up to change. I think that's crazy.
@Chris-EC whoa! That's a shock. Feel free to DM me and I'll see if I can find an answer from the Google-side of things. -KAM
Hi Chris!
I found your post and I'm having the same struggle. I signed up for a Business Starter Plan via Wix. But there are so many limitations around upgrading plans, adding users, etc. I want to keep wix for my website, but I want to switch all my domain stuff over to Google so I can manage it there.
Were you able to figure out how to do it?
Dutch
Yes I was, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I had to cancel the
account with Wix first and then start it up with Google. Wix's customer
support was actually pretty helpful with this.
Thank you,

@Chris-EC I agree with @KAM only the Google workspace customer's who already were using the extra storage subscription were given chance to continue adding extra storage.
Any new additional storage Request is not getting approved and they needs to upgrade to the next higher plan in order to increase the storage size.
@ajojose33333344 to be clear, from my knowledge, even those already using subscriptions can't add more storage but they can continue until the storage subscription expires. -KAM
@KAM , Trust me, they can.. can't reveal the specifics, but they can.
@ajojose33333344 Good to know ๐
I have made movements from WIX to my partner console through transfer codes without any problem. In the end, the administrator has control of the transfer and that's it.
About your storage problem, in general, the Starter version doesn't offer more extra storage. I recommend you to remove large emails with the size:25MB command or move to the next Standard version
