google chat notifications

Hi,

I have been experimenting with google chat notifications, one of our users raised this issue and having replicated it on my machine, I thought I'd ask the community. The issue we've identified is the following, Google chat needs to be open for the user to receive any notifications. Even with notifications enabled and chrome running, the user doesn't receive any notifications. Has anyone experienced this issue before? has anyone found a workaround?

Hi @DValand :

It's definitely a workaround, not a fix, but maybe install the Chat PWA app (https://support.google.com/chat/answer/9455386?hl=en) and set it to open whenever the user logs in to their computer?

Pinning the Chat tab also might help...that's the route I take.

Definitely an improvement to what I currently do.  Hopefully google develop a solution to this.
