reply to an email without including all the history of that email

I would like to have added a reply button in gmail that gives the possibility to reply to an email without including all the history of that email.

If you turn off conversation view from your gmail settings every emails will be appearing as individual mails rather than a group of emails.

But this will affect all the other conversations too.

For a specific email :

To remove the entire history,

  1. From the reply, press the down arrow on your keyboard and then press Delete.
  2. This will highlight the Trimmed Content icon and remove it so that your reply will not have history included.

@VivekMishratvh  For individual emails, while replying you can see this 3-dot option, by clicking on this you can see the entire history and remove the portions that you need to remove:

my question is i dont want the trail email included in my reply email,  i just want to send the reply to the recipient current content not the history .

@VivekMishratvh I believe that's the same thing I have answered in 2 previous comments, you might want to go through it.

Manual solutions like this are NOT feasible. This should be an OOTB feature. Manually deleting text like this is incredibly antiquated....

You might want to post this to the Feature Ideas section here. Doing so will allow it to be upvoted by others and possibly considered as a future feature enhancement.

If you do not already have access, you need to request it first. See https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/custom/page/page-id/Workspace-Feature-Ideas-FAQ for how to do that.

Once you have access, go to https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Feature-Ideas/gh-p/workspace-ideas-group . There, you can upvote and comment on any similar idea, or post a new idea.

If you are submitting a feature idea, be sure to explain the problem that you're trying to solve with the feature idea, not just the idea itself. For example, saying "when my users are trying to do 'A', they often get confused by the fact that the buttons to do 'X' and to do 'Y' look quite similar to each other, which leads to this unintended consequence" is far more likely to get fixed than a feature idea that just says "change the color of the button 'Y'".

Cheers,

Ian

When I reply to an email, it shows my last email with timestamps. This makes my emails look messy and its redundant since my name, the date and time are already at the top of my email.

based on what I've read in this thread can you confirm that it's not possible to remove this automatically when replying.
