Function calling and Grounding Gemini

We are trying to Build a chatbot that can give responses based on the data that we give and also retrieve answers from a live api.
The second problem that is mentioned above can be enabled by a phenomena call function-calling in gemini api in collb the part that does not help in the documentation is that we don't know how to mention the params in the api.

Are you perhaps looking for datastores ? It is used by agents as a reference to answer the end users question from the data. To find more about it  I would recommend looking into this documentation. 

The second question is quite vague to understand I would recommend another post with more details about it. But heres a documentation about function calling that might be helpful for your usecase.
