Imagen 3 | Generating images containing people is currently an allowlist-only feature

I have been using Imagen for 3 weeks but starting today requests with the setting person_generation="allow_adult" consistently fail with the following error:

FailedPrecondition: 400 Image generation failed with the following error: The prompt could not be submitted. Generating images containing people is currently an allowlist-only feature. Contact your Google representative to request allowlisting.

Is this a temporary glitch or is this the new direction going forward with Imagen? I understand and appreciate the protection towards minors, but not being able to generate adult persons at all invalidates the service as a general purpose image generator in my opinion.

Also, how does one get hold of a Google representative?

The error you encountered indicates that your Google Cloud project requires approval for adult generation. This approval depends on the specific person or face generation parameter you've selected and the context of your text prompt.

If your project requires approval, you may fill out the request form and wait for a Google representative to follow up on your request.

I’ve filled out the request form but I haven’t gotten back any confirmation after signing up is this normal. What is the usual waiting time?
