Output font size from Google image translate.

Google Image Translate is OK, BUT,  (sorry, I shout on purpose because) the output font size and colour vary pseudo-randomly.

I found an AI comment that the output font size varies according to the size and length of the input text.

BUT this is not happening.

I have an example of a list of different Chinese characters all the same size and length (all with just one character), translated into English and they come out in various different font sizes.

The only solution I have found is to do the Snip/OCR trick to turn the translated image text into real editable text and adjust the size as I want. This just doubles the time and cost of the job.

How do I get the message through to Google Image Translate that they have crippled an otherwise very good product by automating the output font size selection?

Hi @AlexD1759.

The varying font sizes in Google Image Translate can make the translated text hard to use, especially when you need the formatting to stay the same. Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy way to control or set the font size in Google Image Translate, as it may adjust automatically based on things like how much text there is or the layout of the image. However, here are a few suggestions to work around or fix the issue:

  1. Check the Image Settings: The layout or size of the text in the original image can sometimes affect how it's translated. If you're often getting inconsistent font sizes, try making sure the image is clear and not too cluttered. Editing the image (like cropping out extra parts or adjusting the contrast) might help give more consistent results.
  2. Manual Adjustment: As you mentioned, using the Snip/OCR method can be helpful, but it does take extra time. If you have a lot of translations, you could consider automating the resizing with a script, though it’s a bit more technical.

Additionally, you might want to submit a Feature Request as feedback so that the Engineering Team can review it. This will also allow you to track the progress of your request since it's publicly available. Please note that there is no set timeline for when this might be implemented. For updates, I recommend keeping an eye on the issue tracker and release notes.
