Stop Google document ai processor billing

I am using Google Document AI with custom processors deployed in Google Cloud. I want to stop using them for a year and halt the billing without deleting them. Is there a way to pause billing and reactivate the processors later?

I have reviewed their setup and also search web but didn't find any solution to stop the billing temporary

As of now, Google Cloud's Document AI does not provide a direct way to pause billing for custom processors. The billing is tied to the usage of the service, and there isn't a built-in "pause" feature for custom processors that would stop the billing without deleting the resources.

However, there are some strategies you might consider to effectively manage costs during the period you don't need to use the processors:

  1. Stop Sending Requests: Ensure that no requests are made to the custom processors. Since billing is based on usage, if there are no requests, there won't be any charges.

  2. Export and Delete: Export any necessary configurations, models, or data associated with your custom processors and then delete them. When you need them again, you can re-import and set them up. This will avoid any ongoing charges for resources not in use, though it involves some effort to back up and restore configurations.

  3. Resource Clean-up: Regularly clean up any auxiliary resources that might be incurring charges, such as stored documents or related resources in Cloud Storage, BigQuery, or other integrated services.

  4. Cost Monitoring and Alerts: Set up billing alerts and monitor usage to ensure there are no accidental charges. This will help you keep track of any unexpected usage and address it promptly.

For more detailed guidance and potential updates on this capability, it's recommended to check the Google Cloud documentation or contact Google Cloud support directly.

In the absence of a pausing feature, the best approach is to ensure no usage happens while keeping backups of your configurations for easy restoration when you resume using the processors.

Does the Google Cloud Document AI still charge if a pre-processor has been disabled ? I also made sure none of the models were deployed as well.

Can you please guide ?
