Vertex - Migration to Gemini 2.0 Tunned Models

Hi everyone,

as most of people using LLMs in Vertex I have received an email from google cloud advising for a compulsary upgrade for everyone using PaLM or Gemini 1.x to Gemini 2.0. In the email we are told

My doubt is, it doesn't specifically say that gemini-1.5-flash-001 fine-tunned models are going to be disconitinued, so, can I supposed they will continue to be available?

I attach next the email:

We're writing to inform you that starting April 2025, we’re discontinuing certain Generative AI models on Vertex AI and transitioning to Gemini 2.0 models.

We’ve put together some additional resources to help you understand the upcoming change.

What you need to know

The following models will be discontinued on the dates listed:

  • April 9, 2025: PaLM, Codey, Gemini 1.0 Pro (including all fine-tuned versions), Select embeddings models
