I'm in the middle of a project and did not realise there would be changes to wavenet voices on 27th January. Does anyone know if it's possible at all possible to to access the replaced voices?

Hi @mono-math,

Once a voice is officially replaced in Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, there's typically no way to directly access the older version. Google's deprecation policy usually involves a transition period, after which the older voices are removed to maintain system efficiency and focus resources on newer, improved models. There's no public mechanism to restore or request access to deprecated voices. Your best option is to adapt your project to use the current replacement voices.
In addition, a new update was launched across European markets on January 27, 2025. For more details, you can refer to the case related to the latest update in Google Cloud TTS. Also, be sure to check the release notes for any updates or new features regarding Text to Speech.

Thanks for the reply. Disappointing, but I understand.
I have noticed that the new Wavenet A, C, F and N voices all sound identical, at least to my ear. Seems strange.
I understand the changing policy without warning but first i thought it was a bug too, exact same voices...
Hi, we are also facing this issue, this change wasn't properly communicated to us and is impacting customer experiences, can the old voice be restored?
