[Resolved] AppSheet is down

We are experiencing a widespread outage and working as fast as we can to get external comms up on the Workspace Status Dashboard. We are being affected by the same outage that is affecting the other Workspace products.

AppSheet Community,

I am happy to say that this incident has been resolved.

As of 5:00 PM PT / 17:00 PT,  after the mitigations put into place earlier today as part of the broader incident/outage, AppSheet's services have been fully restored and are running nominally.

The Workspace Status Dashboard has also been updated to indicate that there was a problem with AppSheet beginning approximately 11:00 AM PT along with other services, and also now shown as resolved:

On behalf of the AppSheet team and Google, I apologize for the service disruption, and am happy that our systems have been restored.

Hi AppSheet Community,

I’m Mike Procopio, and Engineering Manager on the AppSheet team. Today I’ll be covering the communications and management for the AppSheet community of a broader outage/incident that is impacting AppSheet as well as many other services at Google.

The Google Cloud Status page has been updated with details on a broader outage impacting multiple services at Google:
https://status.cloud.google.com/

See in particular,
Multiple GCP products are experiencing impact due to Identity and Access Management Service Issue
https://status.cloud.google.com/incidents/ow5i3PPK96RduMcb1SsW

Our metrics and dashboards indicate portions of AppSheet will be slow to load, or may fail to load at all, with error rates beginning approximately 11:00 AM Pacific Time today, June 12 2025.

Significant portions of AppSheet are impacted to varying degree, including slow low or incomplete loading or other error messages displayed. These including the App Editor, The Admin Console, Automations (Bots) and related integrations, and end-user apps themselves as part of the App Runtime.

Engineering teams across Google are actively working on identifying the root cause and fix, and I will have an update on that sharing any available news at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (14:00 PT).

AppSheet Community,

As of 2:00 PM Pacific Time (14:00 PT), AppSheet's services are beginning to recover. Error rates and page loading times are improving.

The Google Cloud Status Dashboard documents some details about identifying the root cause of the outage, as well as steps those teams have taken to mitigate the outage:
https://status.cloud.google.com/incidents/ow5i3PPK96RduMcb1SsW

We will continue to monitor each of our systems including Editor, Runtime, Automation/Bots, and Admin to ensure we continue to recover inline with other Google and GCP services.

Next update: 3:00 PM Pacific Time (15:00 PT)

I don't see AppSheet listed for that incident. I also don't see an incident identified for AppSheet on the workspace status dashboard google.com/appsstatus/dashboard/. Is there somewhere else that would identify that AppSheet is having an issue besides this community site?

Update 3:20 PM Pacific Time (15:20 PT):

AppSheet's services continue to recover.

Our internal monitoring, metrics, dashboards, and probers indicate ongoing recovery with the root cause identification and mitigation noted in the Google Cloud Status Dashboard:

Hi there,

It might be a coincidence, but since than, the virtual columns on tables don't update values when delta sync is on, until a physical column of the table is updated.

VCs of our case used to be calculated from values from other updated tables, but know they don't update until we update a physical column in the VS's table

From the documentation, delta sync isn't supposed to update virtual columns. Of course, that doesn't mean that your app's behavior hasn't changed. I'd like to make sure we understand this issue better. Could you please open a support issue so that we can debug your app?
