Google BigQuery data connector now allows write access!

Hi AppSheet Community!

I’m excited to announce that thanks to your feedback and interest, we’ve added support for write functionality in the Google BigQuery data source. Previously, connected BigQuery sources were read-only. As of today, you can perform full CRUD operations on any connected BigQuery data source. This help article has been updated with full instructions for how to access and use this feature, including licensing requirements (Enterprise plans required), limitations, and best practices.

If you already have a writable BigQuery data source connected, you should be able to start writing data to it right away. Just be sure to mark the appropriate columns in the AppSheet Editor as “editable” so that they can write to your BigQuery table.

Where do I find the BigQuery data source?

Go to “My Account” and select the “Sources” tab. You can add a new data source of type “Cloud Database”. When you click on the dropdown selection, you will see “BigQuery” as a new type of cloud database to choose from.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback and patience leading up to this launch! Please let us know if you have any questions in the comments below.
