Asynchronous integration with microgateway

Hi,

I am wondering if it's possible to integrate with the Apigee Microgateway in asynchronous fashion so that we don't incur any request buffering/routing overhead, and can still avail the functionality of Apigee age e.g. analytics, dev portal , onboarding etc.

I believe the 3Scale's API management product offers such integration using their Plugin Integration approach. I am looking for similar thing in Apigee edge.
