Error during installation of router/message processor in Apigee Edge Private cloud Version 4.53

Hello,
Could someone let me know why am I seeing this error:

Hi AlexBT,

I am trying to install edge router and looks like it's failing to install NGINX rpm package with openssl errors as you could see from the logs I posted.

I am using RHEL9 and the openssl version is 3.0.7. Hope that helps.

We have logged a internal ticket and engineering is looking into it . Meanwhile I suggest following 

  • Check if you have right EPEL (EPEL 9 in this case)
  • sudo yum update -y
  • Update openssl to higher version (I tested with 3.2.2 4) 
  • and finally try installing like : /opt/apigee/apigee-service/bin/apigee-service edge-router install

I can see two errors, which appear unrelated.

I'm not sure what this is about. Either `chkconfig` or `initscripts` failed to unpack properly or dnf/rpm got confused an tried to overwrite an existing RPM. I'm not sure.

To be safe I would recommend, running

rpm --verify initscripts

rpm --verify chkconfig

To make sure the packages are installed properly.

This can message can ultimately be ignored.

`apigee-nginx` attempts to generate a local cert & key pair for itself during installation. Sometimes due to the vagaries of rpm/dnf's non-interactive shell, individual distro environment, and the base openssl version's argument order requirements it can fail. The generated cert is more a vestigial function of the installation script. 

Either way, I'll be sure to create an internal bug to look into this.

This is an automated deployment where instances are created in AWS and then installation of Apigee begins. Therefore, I have no control to check the rpm packages when this fails. If I rerun after the failure those EC2 instances are destroyed and new instances are created and again the I see the same failure.
