Mock scenarios for testing disaster recovery from backups

We are looking to test our disaster recovery abilities. What we lack is information on how to do so for OPDK. Is anyone willing to share their mock scenarios you've created in order to test your recovery processes?

Currently the only solution I have thought of is just running <apigee-component> recover and determining that runtime still works as expected.

This is a very basic way to determine if backup and recovery from backup is working.
