Andriod Device Options

Hi,

Would anybody have any suggestions on what would be the most suited tablet devices I could use for AppSheet apps within my warehouse for use with 4G?

We are currently using Galaxy Tab A 7" which I know are quite dated so I do need to update our kit.

The size of the tabs are good enough for the warehouse team but these just don’t seem to be all that responsive, I know it hasn’t to do with the apps as they work brilliantly from phone or desktop.

Any suggestions, or if anyone is using AppSheet in a similar environment could point me towards a device that they seem a little more fit for purpose that would be great.

With tablets, there isn’t really that much in terms of specification you need to worry about

Screen size
Personal preference really. But I’d suggest you get a rubber bump case as well. If a very small screen (5"- 6") would be fine, then seriously consider a Smartphone instead. They can all support SIM cards and have typically faster CPUs than tablets

Android/IOS version
If your buying new they’ll all work. But I’ve had one ipad that worked fine, then the Appsheet App updated and it would not work with that version of IOS. To be fair the ipad was > 3 years old. Newer OS versions tend to be better with battery life

Storage capacity
I’ve never seen Appsheet go more than 500MB unless you’re running it in offline mode and syncing lots of photos

Camera Flash
Only certain cameras on tablets come with flash. Required if you want to take photos in dark areas

NFC
As far as I know only the Google Nexus came with an NFC scanner. Apple has now opened up the NFC device to stuff other than Apple Pay, not sure if this is just on iphone. But check if this is a requirement

CPU
Go the the best you can afford. Remove all non-required Apps when you buy it

Retailer

Or Xiaomi and Hauwei are both very high quality
