UPDATE: This appears to be an AppSheet side issue or, at the very least, some kind of app anomaly. I tried re-creating a report that was recently created as expected. The resulting report was missing the REF data. On the other hand, I did create a test app with a REF column and the REF columns details were populated into the template just fine.
My client has a process that generated PDF's regularly - several times a week. After running the process with no issues for 3 months, this past weekend a report failed with only "internal error" as the reason.
Trying to re-generate the report resulted in an error that a Yes/No column value could not be derived. Making adjustments for the offending column allows a report to be produced BUT it is incomplete.
Upon closer examination, the issue is that a REF column to another table is not being properly dereferenced, leaving all values associated with the REF column as blank OR encountering errors in template IF statements using the dereferenced values as a condition.
Anyone else seeing these issues?
FINAL UPDATE: This turned out to be a mis-understanding on my part.
When accessing the app using the "Preview As", automatioins DO NOT run as that user. Instead they run as actual logged in user --- ourselves. This made certain data rows NOT available to the automation becasue of Security Filters. I updated the Bot to "Bypass Security Filters" and I was able to re-generate the reports needed.
This of course doesn't explain why the initial running of the Bot failed with no descriptive reason why - only "internal error".
