App to log activity / usage / payments

I am trying to figure out the best way to do this, any ideas would be appreciative.

I want to create an app for my business to record usage on devices and payment totals for customers.

So It's basically the following, the customer comes in and takes a device, brings it back 2 3 weeks later. I add to that customer his total usage and the total paid. I have both new and recurring customers.

I have been sitting on this for weeks already and couldn't come up with the basic concept on how to do this...

And I also have to be able to add the device ID to the customer. It's a different device ID on every visit.

And then I should be able to search in the app this ID to see who currently has the device and who had it last....

This recent video tutorial should help. Your need is analogous--a customers table, a devices table, and an activity table.

BTW, questions like this should be posted in the Q&A board, where they're more likely to be seen by someone who can provide an answer and won't confuse anyone reviewing this Tips board for the type of content it's intended for. I suggested to moderators that they move the post.
