AppSheet Events Add-on

I'm having an issue with the AppSheet Events Add-on. I added the add-on, enabled the correct table, and created a Bot that runs but doesn’t sync or updates the app. I reached out to Customer Service, and they informed me that the AppSheet Events Add-on is functioning correctly since it runs and updates a column in my table. However, they mentioned it isn’t designed to sync the app, which was disappointing. I found a tutorial on YouTube that shows the AppSheet Events running triggering the Bot and the app syncs after the Bot runs.

Is anyone having this issue?

It is not possible to "push" updates to the app. The app itself has to "pull" updates. This is how AppSheet works. See also: Sync: Between the app and the backend

All that's happening in the video when he says something like:

• "And we'll see the results in the app WITHOUT SYNCING THE APP...."

Is he's waiting for the background sync to kick off.

• Notice how long he had to sit there waiting?
  • If he would have hit the sync button, he would have gotten the answer right away.
    
    
• When you wait, you're waiting for the automatic background sync system to pick on up on the fact that there was a change and kick off - which is will, but it's longer than just hitting the sync button.

There is this option: Use Quick sync to instantly see other users' changes

It's new-ish and has limitations. I've not used it so I can't speak to its utility.
