Hi All,
I am just starting to use AppSheet. I have a complex Google Sheets database that I currently use to do lots of calculations to manage my operations. I think AppSheet is the correct way for my business to go since we need to pass a lot of information back from factory floor to the spreadsheet and generate reports that then need to be taken to the factory floor. This is increasingly keeping me at the computer entering data and generating reports.
Now that I am starting to create an App I have discoverfed I cannot use a lot of the columns from the spreadsheet database sheet in the app because they contain functions.
So my question is, in this new world of AppSheets linked to a spreadsheet most of my calcualtions will need to be done in AppSheet ... is this correct? And the spreadsheet simply becomes a 'dumb' database with lots of records. Is my understanding correct?
Any resources that would be helpful in understanding design would be appreciated.
Thanks. Paul.

Welcome to the community! and congratulations for the choice of AppSheet 🙂
In principle you can have spreadsheet formulas and AppSheet can deal with that. However, this is not recommended. The correct way to it is to move your formulas to your app, and as you progress with your app, this will serve you much.
