Hi all,
i'd like to hide the text in buttons (as you can see there the whole text is not displayed but is truncated) and want to show the tooltip when pass on the mouse over button: how to do ?
If not possibile any hints to a better elegant solution (not have possibility to reduce text)?
The truncation of the button name seems to be a bug in the new Desktop Mode. All issues and bugs for this new feature are being reported in this thread. AppSheet is monitoring it for item they need to address before the "General Availability" rollout of this feature.
Please search the thread for any posts already about this issue and then add your comments. If not found then create a new post highlighting the problem.
CAUTION: The Desktop Mode feature is newly nad has not yet be designated as "production" ready. There isn't anything stopping you from including it in any deployed apps BUT be aware that there are flaws and defects that your users may encounter.
With all of the above said....
There is currently no way to remove the button name and keep the "tooltip". You could change the Prominence of the action to "Primary". That will will display the button as a floating Icon button on the view - no name just the icon. The "tooltip" will still display when hovered over by the desktop cursor.
I hope this helps!
