Can scheduled bot 'Run a data action' ForEachRowInTable ?

Hi Experts,

I'm totally stuck here... I just want to know if AppSheet can 'Run a data action' using ForEachRowInTable. Right now, I'm completely confused because my bot isn't running and the AppSheet support team is telling me... Screenshot 2024-06-03 at 14.59.48.png

Honestly, I'm skeptical about this because, as you can see below, the option is clearly visible. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to work normally...?

It seems to me like he's not confused at all, because the support team is just repeating the same thing they've said before...

Can someone please set me straight if I'm mistaken? I'm confused as to why the 'Run a data action' option is even showing up in the bot when we choose 'ForEachRow' in the scheduled bot...?

Thanks!

We can run a data action using Appsheet Scheduled Bot. I have already done that for copying the data from one table to another table. Try to put some filter condition. It will work. Please explain what action you need to perform using scheduled bot.

What I can point out is the comment back from Support desk is completely "OUT OF POINT" and mis-leading us.

Sadly their awareness of the existing functionality of the AppSheet is less than users (us...), so they come back with surprising comments, as you see now.

Scheduled BOT with foreachrow option being enable can invoke the data change action per row.

Do you currently experience something different (scheduled bot not working as you expect?) ? If so, highly likely there is a new bug with Automation.

It actually works for me and when i said โ€œit was not workingโ€ I meant an edge case scenario that updates using a webhook return value.

Which is not much important in this context because simple datachange had worked for me for years. But the message and the confidence of support team scares me.

You are not the only one...... (not Sam Smith...)

How many times do we as a user corrects them ? Sadly he mentioned its said by a specialist. But all I can believe is a copy pasted message and he never spoke with any specialist to be honest.

I have communicated before with support team including the same person before. I have pointed out thier inability to understand to themselves a couple of times. Still they have same low levels of standards/understanding about AppSheet even after years.

Not at all sure why google employs incompetent people for soo long like this. It frustrates business soo much.

Sadly, this is quite true.

Therefore, I made me a rule NOT to post any support desk any more. Just post our observed problems right here in this community and just pray to my god. Posting the formal ticket to the support desk is just wasting time and highly likely end up with "no-game" at the end.

If it was personal project for my friends and family this statement makes sense. We are dealing with BUSINESS. They are totally being incompetent and how do I answer CEOs, Clients and users ? For them it might be childplay. Anyways they clearly indicate by keeping silence for everything here. Moving away to other platforms is only choice once I am done with all my current projects.

In my case my next 3 months apps, modules, views everything is clearly planned and has deadline for each things we develop.

Things like these bugs and stupid people sitting in front of a computer on the other side of support desk and telling blunder almost ALL the time is totally unacceptable.
