Convert google table to appsheet database?

Is this possible?
I have a Google Table and I'd like to import it into an Appsheet Table so I can start building an Appsheet App with it.
Thanks in advance for suggestions/support!

Hi @SkrOYC and @Asa_Nadeau !

You could migrate data from Tables Beta by exporting it to a Google Sheet and then importing it into an AppSheet database. Unfortunately, you will need to reconfigure some column types and references. We haven't had a chance to explore other methods for migration yet but we will update documentation if there is a better way.

@ShirleyN any comments?

yes

I cannot see the link since I'm outside the US but afaik AppSheet Databases is here to replace Google Tables, which in other words is the final version of what Google Tables was meant to be.

AppSheet Databases is a different product that lives inside the AppSheet umbrella but is not necessarily tied to AppSheet Apps.

@ShirleyN Should be able to give more comments about how you could migrate to the new platform. Maybe @zito as well or @lizlynch can talk to the one that could

Side question. Is processing time faster if using appsheet database instead of google sheets?

Cool...I'll give that a shot ...thanks!

Personally I would have stuck with Google sheets. Google sheets is a free form space where you can do what you want, once you move into app sheet database is you're putting yourself into a box.

(It's probably good to keep in mind that this is a new feature, so that box that you're putting yourself into is currently being constructed while you're inside it.)

Plus you can't use a script to modify any of the data in your app sheet database, unless you have an Enterprise plan where you can access the external API, nor any of the other fancy things like note parameters and stuff.

There's a menu drop down to create an app right inside Google sheets itself. I believe it's under tools or extensions.

Just my opinion ๐Ÿ’ช

Thanks @MultiTech ... super helpful perspective!
Is there a place where this Google Sheets & Appsheet Database pros/cons conversation is taking place in more depth?

Not that I'm aware of.  I know there's little tidbits (like this thread) where there's some discussion, but no main post with the pros/cons.

Would be a good thing to start up though.  I however have little to no experience with the feature, so I don't feel that I could really add much other than to the cons side of things - and I don't want to start a post with nothing but negatives. ๐Ÿ˜‚
