Create Email Action Help

I have a Create Email Action set but I want to add a pdf attachment that I have saved in my [File] column.
How can I accomplish this?

I know the obvious choice is to create an actual workflow using the other attachments field but I dont want to wait for the email to pop up in my inbox and then forward that to my end user.

There is a field at the bottom of the email workflow for you to attach files to your email

Attaching a file here uses the same syntax you would use to pull an image; you indicate the path to the folder holding the file, then the file name. Here’s a note from the documentation that shows what I’m talking about:

Instead of MyImage.jpg, you would do something like MyFile.PDF

I am NOT using a workflow and dont want to. I am using the action (or button) to create an email. This opens up in my default email client and I can prepopulate the email body with something like [Notes]. What I am trying to do in addition to [Notes] in the body of the email is include a pdf attachment with [File].
When I do that, it just prints the text of where the file is located and I want the actual pdf.

Ah, missed that in the title.

I don’t think that’s possible; there would need to be some kind of template involved and there is nothing like that currently.

Hi Aaron,

Can you clarify something for me? I am not clear why you cannot use the workflow email feature to either create the PDF as an attachment or use the Other Attachments property to include an existing PDF attachment.

You wrote “but I don’t want to wait for the email to pop up in my inbox and then forward that to my end user.”

I am not sure why you need to forward the resulting email. Why not send it directly to the intended user’s email address?
