Data Matrix Background

Hello,

Is it possible to read a data Matrix in which the background is not white, using the smartphone camera?

Example in the image below.

As far as I know, it's not about colors but about contrast.
Make sure that the camera has a focused view of the code.

FYI, those are not QR codes.
