We store an image, a barcode and some extra data over and over again. It very useful with the auto save and re-open features for the form. The barcode scanner also auto enter when the code is read and if you change the facing itโs the new default.
So how do you make the image capturing as fast as the barcode capturing not having to push โuseโ every time a photo is taken?
Also the default facing of the camera is apparently fixed so thatโs potentially two extra actions for every image captured compared with barcode scanning.

Auto-Save and Auto-Reopen configs inside the Form view
Yes we have done that . It's not the issue. When "entering" a image/photo you first have to "take" the photo, then you have to press "Use photo" (ios), the second press is redundant, just waste of time according to the users.

AppSheet provides no control over the "facing" of the camera, so there's no way to change that.
To open the camera app automatically when entering the form, the Image column must be the first column in the form, must be required, and auto-advance must be ON.
auto save and re-open features for the form is set as mentioned , donโt know about the auto-advance? But there is really no issues with the way the form works. Itโs the image catchingโฆ
Apparently AppSheet has full control of the camera when using if for barcode scanning, no need for pressing any key when barcode has been read and also the facing of the camera is defaulted to the selected facing. So why not the same control of the camera when capturing images?
The barcode reader activates and reads a barcode. Once a barcode is read, it has fulfilled its function. How would the camera know when the time is right to take a picture? Your question is nonsense.
No, please hear what the users keeps telling me. They would rather not press the โUse Photoโ button after the capturing is done. And if you really want to push it then make an option so the capturing is done automatically with a countdown.

Also the option to be able to upload images from gallery should be turned off
