Different Color Icons in Format Rules?

I could have sworn that i had read earlier in the year that we now have the ability to set icon highlight colors to different things. So if i wanted to add a few icons to the same field, each could have their own color. I tried setting a new format rule to add an icon and color it blue, and to my surprise, ALL icons assigned to that column took on the same color.

Did i mis-remember something, or is this function available and perhaps i just haven't enabled something?

It could just be because it's a header column in a detail view. Try moving that column into the regular "column order" of the detail view, and see if the separate colors show.

Yea and to Marc's point (thanks Marc), it may also be because it's backed by an image vs being against just the regular background.
