Edit a selected dropdown value

Hi, 

I am trying to get the values of a dropdown in a textbox and user should be able to update that value. I am building an app where I need to generate a pdf which outlines the conditions for a particular student. Every student has different condition based on the subject that they have taken. I want to outline a general condition in the dropdown and user should be able to update the subject for a particular student. I am trying to get selected dropdown value in a textbox and update that. I am able to get the value of the dropdown with app formula but textbox is not editable. Is there any other way to make it work?

Set this option as ON and select dropdown instead of buttons from the Enum column's definition. Then you should be able to add a new value that doesn't exists.
