Embedded App View - Email To, Cc, and Bcc

Hello,

I'm using an Embedded App View to send emails to a few people in the user's table as 'Admin'. I see only a To option for the Embedded app view and I don't see Cc and Bcc options.

Right now, I'm just using the To option to send the emails, my client's request is to not send the requests to all the 'Admin' users but instead add some in Cc and Bcc as well.

Each user will have a To, Cc, and Bcc option in the user table, and based on that the requests will be sent to the emails. How do I send the Dynamic email using To, Cc, and Bcc?

I see that the Custom Template view has the option to add To, Cc, and Bcc but for that, the 'Admin' users have to open the app separately instead of just approving or rejecting the requests from Gmail.

@Steve, @Suvrutt_Gurjar,  @WillowMobileSys, can you help in this regard?

Our community colleagues will definitely add their insights or correct my understanding.

Your observation is correct that embedded email has only "To" field and no "CC" or "BCC" fields.

One reason could be ( even though I did not find any official documentation about it) that embedded emails are enabled for only detail and form views. They also seem to be designed to facilitate a specific action on part of the recipient such as approval of say travel request with any additional comment etc. So sending an embedded email just for information purpose does not seem to serve a great purpose.

On the other hand , normal emails have "just for information" use as well so as to allow CC and BCC fields.

Of course , these are not mathematical rules that only one answer is correct at a time. So if majority community members feel the embedded emails also deserve CC and BCC fields, one can request this through feature ideas. The actual implementation time may of course not be soon.

As a workaround, you could possibly send two ( or three ) emails with automation.

1. An embedded email to the recipient who is supposed to take some action.

2. A normal email to the recipient in point 1 above as well as some others in CC and BCC so that they know such an embedded email has been sent.

3. Once the recipient of the embedded email takes the desired action, a travel request approved or some such email can be sent to those in CC and BCC confirming the action taken. Even though this email may not be necessary as app will anyway reflect the action taken by the intended recipient.

Thanks for the suggestions. We use the embedded email to approve or reject requests made by employees and only the "Admin" user can perform those actions.

My main purpose or idea is to facilitate the automation task to send emails with 'To', 'Cc', and 'Bcc' along with performing the actions in the Gmail itself.

E.g., each employee will have a department head who will approve the requests and in the 'Cc' and 'Bcc' fields the emails of the HR department are used to keep track of the requests. This is possible using the Custom Template feature but as I mentioned, I need the recipient to perform the action in the email itself.

Maybe I'll add it in the feature ideas, thanks for the help!

You are welcome. Got your use case. Well, till the feature is implemented   you could do certain workarounds as suggested or you could even get more creative with certain other options.

Best luck. Also other community members may have some other great solutions for you.
