Font changed on PDF

Hi,

This morning when I generated my PDF report as usual and found the font changed.

I didn't change any setting on the template.

I know I can't set the font on PDF file even I set the font on template.

Is there anyway  to get the PDF font as previous version?

If the font in your AppSheet-generated PDF report has changed without you making any modifications, here are some possible reasons and solutions to restore the previous font:

Possible Causes:

  1. AppSheet Update: AppSheet may have updated its PDF rendering engine, which could have changed the default font.
  2. Google Docs Template Change: If you use a Google Docs template, AppSheet might not be recognizing the font correctly.
  3. Browser or Device Issue: If you’re viewing the PDF in a different browser or device, font rendering might look different.
  4. Missing Font in PDF Engine: AppSheet’s PDF generator may have removed support for the default font it previously used.

Possible Solutions:

1. Try Using a Different Template Format

If you’re using a Google Docs template, convert it to a Microsoft Word (.docx) template and re-upload it. Sometimes, different file formats handle fonts differently in AppSheet’s PDF generation.

2. Change the Font in the Google Docs Template

Even though AppSheet does not fully respect font settings, some users have reported success with using widely supported fonts like Arial or Times New Roman in Google Docs. Try explicitly setting the font in your template and regenerating the PDF.

3. Use a Different PDF Viewer

Check if the issue is related to your PDF viewer. Open the PDF in another reader (Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, Edge) to see if the font appears differently.

4. Re-upload the Template File

  • Download your existing template.
  • Open it in Google Docs or Microsoft Word.
  • Save it as a new file and upload it again in AppSheet.
