How Do I create Dependent Dropdown list

Hello and thank you in advance!

I've been playing with AppSheet project with the Google Sheet and there were limitations. I wanted to create a Status list with the Sub Status list depending on what variable is being chosen. Now, I created a new AppSheet project with inhouse database, I am wondering if I can recreate similar Dependent Dropdown. I am still confused on how 'ref' features work

I appreciate the link, however it is released 6 years ago with outdated interface.

Do you have different resources that I can use?
