How to activate search in popup window

HI,
in a test I was able to also have the search function, in the window that opens in a control dropdown... Now I can't, is there a way to reactivate it?

If you are referring to the search window in the dropdown such as below it will start showing only when there are more options that cannot be accommodated in the drop down window. The below dropdown has search window, because as the scroll bar on the right of the dropdown window shows, there are many options that cannot be shown in the search window at a time.

Whereas the below dropdown has no search window because all three options are visible and the user does not have to search anything. The search window will automatically show if there are more options than that can be shown in the drop down window. Hope this helps.
