How to pre-select ENUM fields in a form ?

Is it possible to have some ENUM fields pre-selected when a user open a form to edit a record ?

Essentially, I have a ENUM field with either "Y" or "N". Under some conditions, I want the user to open the form and have the fields preselected to "Y". 

Just trying to minimise the number of clicks required to complete a form.
