Inline view format in Detail view VS Form View

Related to this thread:

I have 3 tables

- TRACKING NUMBERS (a basic list of key ID's that I use to link all parts of a project)

- PURCHASE LOG (a place for a company purchaser or shipper receiver to log purchases - Using the Tracking numbers as a P.O. number)

- TIME LOG (a place for field technicians to log time to a tracking number, and also select which purchases they have used on a job)

I had set up a bunch of sample data to test some actions and formatting. The goal was to allow users to select & claim used purchases in their time logs.  It works well in a detail view with sample data and look like this:

Directly from the inline view, Users can select unclaimed purchases (the GREEN check mark is claimed). Alternately users can select the "X" and un-claim the purchase (adding it back to the claimable pool).   Other users can see but not edit the status of purchases claimed by others.

Like I said the system works great with sample prefilled data, but  when I add a new time log entry the inline format goes out the window.

The inline formatting is somewhat intact, but the actions do not work, including the action to hide the actions that do not apply.

Any thoughts from the hive mind on what obvious things I am clearly missing?

What do you mean by "Goes out the window"?

 Actions don't work inside forms

That would explain everything. Thank you for the answer.

And like that my idea is crushed lol.
