Is there a turn off for auto fill of initial values, PII, etc on resyncing a table?

Hi,

As I'm still developing my tables, I resync somewhat frequently, and each time it autofills values I don't want to be filled. Is there a way to turn this off?

Thanks!

I assume you mean regeneration of the table?   No, there is no way to prevent the autofill of an Initial value on NEW columns.  Once you have removed the Initial Value expression, it should not be re-inserted on subsequent regenerations.

If you are seeing behavior contrary to what I described then please elaborate.

Hi, yes, regeneration. It re-inserts initial values, privacy settings, etc in all columns, not just new columns. If I just had to adjust that once, it wouldn't be an issue. But, it's all columns upon each regeneration of the table.

I see, what are you using as the data source?  It may be a bug in that regeneration process and needs to be reported to AppSheet.

Moved over to AppSheet databases recently; I don't remember it being an issue when I used Google sheets or Excel.

Hi,

Same issue there. I'm planning to get back to Google Sheet data source instead of AS Database. Plus, I have the same issue with the values of the Enum type column that must be recorder into the AS Database. And we don't talk about the incorrectly converted US date format.
