Looking for the number pad option

Is it possible to have a calculator type number pad when using the app? I have an inventory app and it seems like a number pad layout would work better then having the numbers across the top row of a typewriter layout.

Typically, on mobile devices which what I assume you are referring to, the keyboard/keypad layout changes based on the type of field the data is being insert into.  For instance a Text type column will show a keyboard.  A numeric field will show a keypad.  Some of this will depend on the input configuration of the column.

Are you not currently seeing a keypad type entry for a numeric field?   If not, what device are you testing it on?

It's not a setup that depends on Appsheet. You should setup the keyboard of app users.

I am using a decimal field. What I get is the keyboard with the numbers along the top (see attachment). I would like it to be a number pad. With the 7,8,9 on top and then 4,5,6 below, etc. Is this possible? Is this a function of my phone? I am using an iPhone 13 pro.

I see.  Phone type fields DO default to the iOS numpad.  Maybe this is what I was remembering.  Go figure!!

As an alternative, I just tested using a Numpad app downloaded from the AppStore.  When in the keyboard on the device, you do have to tap one more button to get to the Numpad.  And later will need to switch back for text fields.  Maybe that is an option?  See image below

So, defaulting to numpad is possible and is probably an excellent item to submit as a Feature Idea - if not already on the list.  I can see where some app creators would want the option to default to a QWERTY (or similar keyboard) while others default to numpad for numeric fields, so an app setting might be best approach.

After installing Numpad app and tapping keyboard option button

This would be a great column-specific option (or default for number types)

One of the trick I found that if we put 0 (i.e. zero) in initial value then it starts numpad automatically

I could not replicate this on an iphone 12 using either the web or app version.  No added keypads on the phone, but a keypad normally appears for well designed forms with numeric fields.
