Need help changing my app to allow the upload of documents

I have made an app showing word documents, excel documents and a calendar. Although when I press the plus in the bottom right it asks me to input a title, description and image and when I do that it does not appear. Also there is no way to upload a word or excel document.
This app is for an assignment so wont be published.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

There certainly is. Use a File type column.

Here are the screenshots i have to send one per message, and I meant currently in my app there is no way to upload word and excel documents, how do I use/add a file type column?
