Request: Allow Core Apps to Remain Core Even When Developer Uses Enterprise License

Hi everyone,
I’d like to raise a concern regarding the current AppSheet licensing policy and ask the community (and AppSheet staff) for clarification or potential review.

If the owner of the apps has an Enterprise Plus license, then all apps under that account automatically get tagged as requiring Enterprise Plus, even if the apps:

  • Only use Core features
  • Were previously running perfectly fine with Core licenses

As a result, all users who want to use even a simple Core app now get flagged as requiring an Enterprise Plus license.

There should be a clear separation between the developer’s license level and the features used in each app. I suggest:

  1. If an app uses only Core features, then:
    • Users should only need Core licenses, even if the app owner has Enterprise.
    • AppSheet should not automatically escalate the license requirement to Enterprise just because of the developer’s license.
  2. If an app uses Enterprise features, then:
    • Of course, users will need Enterprise licenses — that's fair.

This way, a developer with an Enterprise subscription can build both:

  • Core apps (for general, cost-effective use)
  • Enterprise apps (for advanced, internal needs)

Without forcing all users across all apps into an unnecessary Enterprise license.

Is this expected behavior?

I’d really appreciate any clarification. I couldn’t find a detailed explanation of this policy in the documentation.
Can anyone from the community or support team explain this policy clearly?

Can the policy be reviewed to support more flexibility for mixed use?

Thanks!
