I never ‘hide’ columns by unchecking the box (except the _RowNumber
). I always default to entering ‘FALSE’ in the Show field.
The ‘FALSE’ value hides the column while still allowing you to Search the column Why the difference? I don’t know, but I find it handy.
If you don’t have the option UX > Options > “Apply show-if constraints universally” set to ON, the FALSE only hides the field from the form view, not from detail, table etc. views. That’s why it will keep it as searchable.
