Good morning to the community.
My application allows to upload pdf documents to the “documents” field.
The general naming is [ID].documento.hhmmss.pdf, about the 80% of the records.
E.g.: 57d417be.documento.075734.pdf
But, sometimes it is not so.... I have several types:
What I have noticed is that the final part inserts it in time periods. What happens is that it names them well, then there are x hours in which it names them differently, then x hours in which it names them well again, then x hours in which it names them with another pattern.
Can someone explain to me what is happening, how can I control the name given to the uploaded files?
Hi Mariano,
Adding a dot before at the beginning will keep the file name. Example :
Hope it helps.
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. In my case, the system itself is the one that inserts that seemingly meaningless end of file and I wanted to see why. Or if it is a bug.
You asked " how can I control the name given to the uploaded files?" and I suggested a way to do that. Either way, I do not know of a way to manipulate totally the file name.
Can you check the original files names then ? For example, what is the original file name of
? My first assumption is that the original name files contains a dot somewhere, thus the uploaded file name will contains parts of it.
Good appreciation. I had not suspected that perhaps the original name had a point and that transcends the name given by the system. I can't know the original name because it is the client himself who inserts the files from his PC.
Anyway, this question was to understand what was going on.
Would that have anything to do with this other topic I posted and no one has answered me?
It's unlikely linked. Best way to figure it out is to ask your client the original file names.
