Sum option not appearing in Group Aggregate

Hi, there used to be an option to select SUM under UX>View. All I can see are NONE and COUNT. How can I bring that option back?

Here’s what: I want to create a slice that calculates the running total of hours worked that will be used for a chart. I’m not able to figure a simple way to show that properly.

Any advice?

You can see the SUM option if your field is like number, decimal etc. If it’s like text, the app can only count records from the group.

Thanks, Aleksi. I do have some fields that are text, but I also included fields with duration in the slice. Would that work?

Unfortunately duration will not work.

Discovered a way to trick the app into Sum Duration.

First: While setting the group by, insert your column with the duration value. On the left of the field hit the pen to edit its properties and set it to number.

Go back to the group by, add the group agreggate with Sum that column.

Head back to edit your column property and set it back to duration. Done.

Save and never touch it again. If you try to switch the agregate to anything else, it will vanish the option to sum that column, and you will need to repeat all steps to set it back.
