What I'm trying to do is update the current location of an inventory item, based on another sheet's newest row with the same Unit ID.
With my AppSheet app, clients order a unit from our inventory, and an employee physically pulls the item and marks its destination location in a form. These form entries are saved on a sheet called "Inventory log". The items will eventually be returned to us, as they are rentals.
My goal is to have the main inventory's "Current Location" column for that specific unit be updated based on the newest entry in the Inventory Log table.
I've only been using AppSheet for a few days, I've tried the INPUT() function, but I either wasn't using it correctly, or this may not be possible with this function. I also tried using an action to update data, but I wasn't able to isolate the newest entry. The action ended up changing the entire inventory's "Current Location" to a list of all the locations in the Inventory Log.
Thanks Steve, I was digging around through Tips & Tricks and couldn't find anything that quite hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the link.
