Use API to pre populate form

Say i have a form with 2 fields: [ City, Weather (F) ]

I want to use an API so that if the user selects "New York City" an API is called and "weather" is populated in real time. User can override if needed or click save. 

Any way to do this?

The only way to get return data from an API would be to go through an App Script with a Bot. There'd be no way to show the return data immediately within the form itself.
