What is the difference between edit definition and view definition when combined with user vs admin?
I am adding people tomorrow for the sole purpose of being able to add/delete users and wondering what combination of permissions to give them. I know we donโt have limited permissions for this purpose.
The โEdit definitionโ can edit your app where as the โView definitionโ can only see your app definitions.
and what does Admin vs user give them?
can someone view definition, be an admin and add users?
or can they edit definition, be a user and add other users?
These are two different things. You can read userโs role and how to use it in the appโฆ like USERROLE()=โAdminโ
I really just need a quick answer - we are in thick of it here with Dorian.
If I want someone to be able to add users what is the best setting for them? edit and admin? or something else.
thanks
Only โEdit definitionโ can add users to your whitelist. Role doesnโt have anything to do with that.
@tcanelli itโs been my experience that the UserRole system implemented by appsheet is literally just a way for someone to NOT have to create their own user system if they just need to quickly differentiate admins from users via the USERROLE() function.
The actual permission to do anything in the editor is controled via the
User | Count |
---|---|
