Virtual column as a key

I'm using a concatenation of 2 columns as a key. For example I have 2 enumlist columns (product [pen, pencil, desk] and color [red, green,  blue]) where I wish the combination of these two to always be unique. This works fine but  I can't seem to edit either of these columns after the entry has been created.

Is this how AppSheet works? If so, is there anyway I can enforce the uniqueness of combined columns without nominating them as a computed key?

Thanks

Yes. Because actually they're key parents. I don't see the point of that. Could u tell why to set a key like this?

I want to make sure that a combined value of 2 column is unique. I find it convenient to set them as a key to make sure its uniqueness.

That is how AppSheet's "key" column works and it should be that way. Keys, once created, should not be edited.

Having said that if you want to ensure the uniqueness of the combined value of multiple columns, you can adapt this post to a multi-columns case.

thanks for your post. I'll look into your post to find out how I achieve the uniqueness of 2 columns without setting them as a key.
