YouTube Video Embed Error

For whatever reason when I try to modify the HTML to include an embedded YouTube video, when I try and save the system removes the embed.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C_kfm9rU5ig" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

That's the code I got from YouTube.... when I try and insert that into the HTML - it's removed when the post of "validated" first

Personally:  I'd rather embed a video player here in the community post - so people don't have to go to another tab just to see the content

  • If they want to open the video in YouTube proper - there's a button right there on the bottom task bar of the video they can press

Hello @MultiTech,

Are you going straight to the HTML code source or are you using the Insert Video icon in the toolbar?

By using the insert Video icon in the toolbar, you can insert the YouTube video and users can view the video within the post without having to go outside of the community.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I appear to NOT have that button available

This should help reduce some of the doorway effect, allowing people to view the content right here where they're looking at all the original text/content.

Cheers!

You could share the HTML code of an embeded video using this method since we don't have the UI for it yet. Same as how we can use a TOC with the following since we don't have the button for it either:

<p><li-toc indent="15" listStyle="disc" maxHeadingLevel="4"></li-toc></p>

The way I see it, this community uses a lot of "internal" tags and it's a complete bummer
