Google Cloud Credits

Does anyone know how to get free google cloud credits(for general use on google cloud) for services not under free tier(eg. sql)? Does it help if you happen to be a WTM or an Innovator?

I'm not super well-versed in the overall ways to get free credits, but I do know that you can get free credits through the Google for Startups Cloud Program - of course, that's only if you're part of a startup and qualify. I did this, but I'm not sure it was worth it in my case - I had to run dev products more than I would've otherwise so that Google could evaluate them, and the extra cost was only matched by what I ended up getting in credits

Thanks, I tried applying and like you said, it seems like a not so straight forward process due to how they approve companies as products only,  and not both or services only, which is in my case (both under a services company).

Hi @ewuraba,

In addition to @amelesko, according to Google Cloud's official documentation, the primary ways to get free credits for services beyond the free tier are:

  • Free Trial: New users can typically sign up for a free trial that includes a certain amount of credit to explore Google Cloud's products and services.
  • WTM (Google Workspace Technology Manager): This program provides resources and support for organizations using Google Workspace.
  • Innovator Programs: This program connects developers and businesses with Google Cloud experts and resources.

For the most up-to-date and accurate information, please refer to the official Google Cloud documentation.

Ok thanks will check out the WTM (Google Workspace Technology Manager) program.

As for innovators, I have not yet come across free "general credits" .
I however think the hack now is to use  Google for Developers premium, with in-essence "half pricing" and a few benefits there if my projects don't require much... which it actually does. hm.
