Mandatory multi-factor authentication for Google Cloud console

Hello,

I've received an email about Mandatory multi-factor authentication for Google Cloud console, but when I go to my account it says that 2 step verification has been turned on in 2022. Are these emails also sent to users who already turned it on, or does Google somehow not register that it's already turned on?

Welcome to the Google Cloud Community!

The email you received is a part of Google’s updated requirements for Mandatory Multi-factor authentication (MFA) on Google Cloud. Mandatory MFA for Google Cloud is planned to be implemented in a phased roll out from November 2024 until the end of 2025.

Google sends out notifications and guidance across users of the Google Cloud Console, Firebase Console, gCloud, and other platforms. We sent these as a reminder that in order to continue using these tools, you'll need to enroll in MFA.
