Hi, I’m currently studying to become a data analyst for a telecoms provider in the UK.
Just working on my PDP (personal development plan) and wanted to know what’s the difference between Data Engineering and Cloud Architect.
I see Google has a course on Data Engineering, and was wondering if anyone could shed some guidance?
Please be aware I won’t be so technical so laymens terms pls

Yes, they are different recommended prerequisites
Professional Cloud Architect - https://cloud.google.com/certification/cloud-architect
Professional Data Engineer - https://cloud.google.com/certification/data-engineer
If you are referring to the certifications the Cloud Architect exam tests your general knowledge of GCP. All topics and concepts are in scope. For Data Engineer certification the exam focuses explicitly on GCP Data solutions (Big Query, Cloud SQL, Data Proc, Data Flow, etc)
Thank you for your response.
What is the difference between the two and are there different certification programmes?
Thank you.
Does Google Cloud - Associate Cloud Engineer job description involve coding. I'm thinking of doing cloud certifications and also at the same time want to get out of coding.
