Dataform doesn't run the latest commit

When triggering a release configuration, either manually or via a workflow config, dataform doesn't pull the latest commit but seems to use an older commit that was pushed hours ago. Seems like a caching bug to me.

Hi @Mårten,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

When Dataform doesn't run the latest commit when triggering a release configuration, it is usually due to various factors, including a possible issue on caching or synchronization with Dataform's commit retrieval process.

Here are several suggestions that may help resolve the issue:

  • Caching Issue: Issue on cache is one possible reason why Dataform doesn't run the latest commit, clear all cache related to Dataform to isolate the issue.
  • Release Configuration: Verify if your release configuration uses the correct branch, including when you manually trigger compilation. Ensure the frequency and compilation triggers are properly configured and do not cause any delay.
  • Synchronization: Ensure that the Dataform is properly synchronized with your remote repository and that Dataform has fetched the latest changes.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to Google Cloud Support for further assistance, as they can provide insights into whether this behavior is specific to your project.
