GA4 export to BigQuery - Job was not created

  Hi!

The GA4 export to BQ in 07/11 with Data from 07/10 was not even created. I checked the logs in the Logs Explorer and there is no Job created there. The job with data from 07/11 and 07/09 worked fine. There is no error, no register, nothing about the job that should've loaded the data for 07/10.

What can I do?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Google Cloud Community.

  1. GA4 data processing can take up to 48 hours. It's possible that the data for July 10th is still being processed and hasn't reached BigQuery yet.
Wait for an additional 48 hours and check if the data appears.
  2. Ensure the GA4 property is correctly linked to the BigQuery dataset and that the export settings are configured correctly.
Review the BigQuery export setup in the GA4 property settings to confirm the correct destination dataset and table.
  3. Check the BigQuery logs for any errors or warnings related to the export job for July 10th.
Use the BigQuery logs explorer to search for errors or warnings related to the export job for the specific date.
  4. If you're using the free tier or have tight quotas, it's possible the export job failed due to resource limitations.
Review your BigQuery and GA4 quota usage to identify any potential constraints.

If the issue is not resolved ,try contacting GCP support

Hi @rlourenco it seems like there might have been a glitch or interruption in the scheduled GA4 data export to BigQuery on 07/11 (for data from 07/10). Since you’ve already checked the Logs Explorer and didn’t find any job records for that specific day, here are a few steps you can take to investigate and address the issue:

1. Check Your GA4 Export Configuration

  • Make sure the export is still set to run daily and that there haven’t been any recent changes to account permissions or settings that might have disrupted the process.
  • Confirm that the service account responsible for the BigQuery export has the necessary permissions to write to your dataset.

2. Inspect the BigQuery Dataset

  • Look for any missing tables or unusual naming patterns for the 07/10 data. Sometimes, data might be exported to an unexpected partition or table due to misconfigurations or temporary bugs.

3. Retry the Export Process

  • Unfortunately, GA4 doesn’t allow you to manually re-export historical data. However, you can query the data directly in GA4 or use the API to retrieve information from 07/10 and manually upload it to BigQuery if needed.

4. Monitor Future Exports

  • Keep an eye on upcoming exports to ensure this doesn’t happen again. If the issue recurs, it might point to a systemic problem, in which case reaching out to Google Support would be a good idea.

5. Explore External Solutions

  • If reliability is a concern and you want more control over your data exports, consider using external platforms like Windsor.ai. These tools can help automate and customize your GA4 data exports to BigQuery or other destinations, ensuring no data is missed and giving you greater visibility into the export process.

I hope these suggestions help resolve the issue! Let me know if you need further guidance or have additional details to share.
